Huntsman has announced plans to build a new polyurethaneplant in Dubai.

The new facility will be locatedin the Jeb Ali Free Trade area and (JAFZA), will strengthen the company'sability to differentiate downstream in the Middle East heartland.

Targeted for completion in the second half of 2019,Huntsman's investment will increase the company's production capacity in theregion and take its polyester polyol capacity to a new level.

The Dubai plant will complement the company's twoexisting plants in the Middle East, Turkey's (Huntsman EMA) and Saudi Arabia'sHAPC-- and BCI, forming three strong pillars for the company's growth。

The MDI based systems market in the Middle East hasexperienced strong growth over the past five years, and this trend is expectedto continue at an annual rate of 7 per cent.

The construction of the new plant will enable us tosupply both traditional and high-end rigid polyurethane formulations locally.

It allows us to take advantage of the company'sdevelopment and production technology of polyester polyols and polyol blendsfor the rapidly growing flexible foam and footwear markets, as well asprepolymers for adhesives, coatings and elastomer applications。
